Getting back into the daily grind is especially hard after vacation – lucky for us in Basel, this weekend we can feel like we’re on vacation again as we enjoy gastronomy and design from all over the world at Messeplatz!
Basel’s Street Food Festival is here once again where fifty-five stands will serve food from forty countries, so there’s sure to be something to satisfy any craving. In addition to the food, there will be a cocktail bar, a beer tasting bar, Coop Kinderland, music, and more! It runs from Friday April 21st to Sunday April 23rd; entry is free and dishes range in price from CHF 5 to CHF 13. Find more info at the Street Food Festivals Switzerland site or on Facebook.
In between chowing down on an assortment of culinary delights, head on over to Messe Hall 13 to check out the international design fair for a look at unique works by over 150 national and international fashion, furniture, and jewelry designers. The Blickfang trade fair gives visitors a chance to meet the designers and try products as well as the opportunity to buy directly from the designer, making Blickfang one of the most important meeting places within the international design scene. If you’re looking for a unique piece that won’t be found in popular chains, this fair is for you. Also running from Friday April 21st to Sunday April 23rd, you can buy a ticket for a single day or a three-day pass. More information can be found at the Blickfang site or on the Facebook event page.
