Summer time is not only the time for a break and vacation for us humans. It is also the time when nature really grows the seeds planted in spring and gives us the harvest we have been waiting to collect.
I really liked the harvest Janet Jaffke got:
Corn in this part of the world is mostly grown to feed the pigs. Anything offered in the grocery store is quite expensive, dried out, and packaged in cellophane. I wouldn’t even attempt to eat it so…. I grew my own!
Anne Kohler and I sampled it yesterday and it was fantastic! I’m thrilled there is plenty more left in the garden – next year maybe I’ll open up a little sweet corn stand!
Sounds really nice … inspiring and tasty.
What did you grow in the summer?
