Purpose and Vision for Entrepreneurs

Do you know your WHY?

At our October women entrepreneurs meeting we are going to talk about WHY purpose and vision is the foundation for yourself and your business.

“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” (Simon Sinek)

WHY am I doing what I am doing? What is meaningful for myself? What do I want to bring into the world? What is my gift I want to share? From your personal mission and vision you can build the mission and vision for your business. Your WHY will guide you when times in business get hard.

We will have a look at this topic with inputs, exercises and exchange.

The workshop will be led by Regina Schlager from Zürich, Coach and Embodied Life Guide for women who want to share their gifts with the world. www.reginaschlager.eu

Before the meeting we start with an apero from 7- 7.30 pm.

For non member visitors the participation fee for the evening is 15 CHF.

Please register your attendance using the form below. We look forward to seeing you!

“Slow Train to Switzerland” with Diccon Bewes

Author Diccon Bewes

Author Diccon Bewes

At the PWG’s main meeting on 29 October, 2014, our guest speaker is Diccon Bewes, a well-known international travel writer and author of three books about Switzerland and the Swiss. Diccon Bewes is English but has lived for eight years in Bern.

Save the date because Diccon’s engaging presentation focuses on an adventurous young English lady, Miss Jemima, who took part in Thomas Cook’s first conducted tour of Switzerland in 1863 and kept a journal of the tour group’s fascinating experiences.  What were their impressions of Switzerland and its people during their strenuous three-week trip? How, for example, did they manage to hike across Alps and glaciers dressed in typical Victorian attire, petticoats and all?

One hundred and fifty years after Miss Jemima visited Switzerland, Diccon retraced her steps, staying in the same places and discovering how Thomas Cook’s conducted tour transformed the country, its economy and its people and led to mass tourism on a global scale.

Please join us for this enlightening and entertaining evening and enjoy some delicious English teas and treats. Diccon’s book about Miss Jemima’s and his own journeys, “Slow Train to Switzerland” are available at the PWG meeting as are his international best-sellers “Swiss Watching”  and “Swisscellany” – all three are must-reads for expats and Swiss. You will also be able to have them signed by the author.
Prices: Swiss Watching 25 chf,  Swisscellany 20 chf , Slow Train to Switzerland (hardback) 40 chf

What is Fasnacht in Basel?

The meeting starts at 7:00 pm promptly.

History and the presentation of a typical Fasnachtsclique (group of carnival)

As the year gets closer to its end, we  invite you to a very special event.

If you have lived in Basel for awhile, you are probably familiar with “the most beautiful three days” otherwise known as Fasnacht. This long tradition in Basel has survived thanks to the active involvement of  the carnival groups known as “cliques”. These groups have special rules and are mainly, formed by male members who are very proud of their exclusivity.

PWG members AND their spouses will be in for a special treat when the “Stainlemer Alti Garde” opens their “cellar” in one of the oldest buildings in Basel’s historical center, to explain what makes a clique so special.  They will help us understand how to best enjoy  those three special days during Fasnacht in Basel.

Drinks and a catering service have been organized to guarantee a delightful evening, and you (and your partner) are the special guests!

Cost for this event is 25. chf  each for PWG members and their  guests. Please reserve your spot by October 30 using the form below. We will consider your registration only after payment. You will receive the bank details after registration.
