Don’t know what to do this weekend in Basel? Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Spring is in the air and fresh regional produce is popping up! The City of Basel wants you to get excited about shopping locally and seasonally. This Saturday April 1st is the Tag der Märkte, or Day of Markets. From 11AM until 2PM at Marktplatz, you can check out all the stands selling produce, cheese, meat, and flowers. Be sure to pick up a pocket guide with information about Basel’s many markets. More information can be found on the Basel website or on the Facebook event page.
Warmer weather also means changing out your closet, putting the sweaters away and pulling out the short sleeves. If you have kids, though, they may be in need of new clothes due to that last growth spurt! The Basel Children’s Trust is having their Spring Flea Market this Saturday at The Launch Labs from 9AM until noon. A variety of second-hand children’s items will be available. Additional information can be found on their site or on the Facebook event page.
“Mummies, fortune-tellers, and mysterious messages”: this is the theme for the Naturhistorisches Museum’s Familiensonntag (Family Sunday) on April 2nd which hosts a variety of activities for kids. There’s a mummy exhibition to explore, secret messages to write, a virtual trip inside a mummy, and more. Open from 10AM to 5PM, entrance is free! Check out their website or Facebook event page for more info.
